Voices Across India
The 6th TSFA cast the widest net yet — entries from 14 states, a digital track that matched the film track in ambition, and a creative community that had grown into something truly national.
The Story of the Sixth Edition
By 2023, TSFA had outgrown its Hyderabad roots without leaving them behind. The 6th edition drew entries from filmmakers and digital creators across 14 states — from the hills of the Northeast to the coasts of Kerala, from the streets of Mumbai to the studios of Chennai.
The digital track came fully into its own that year. Web series, YouTube channels, Instagram creators, and short-form storytellers submitted work that rivalled the film entries in craft and ambition. The jury found themselves deliberating longer than ever — a sign of how much the standard had risen.
The 6th edition also marked a new chapter in TSFA's relationship with the industry. Established names began to take notice of the talent emerging through the awards, and several past winners found their careers accelerated by the recognition. TSFA was no longer just celebrating independent storytelling — it was shaping it.
"In 2023, we stopped thinking of TSFA as a Hyderabad awards show. It had become something that belonged to every independent storyteller in India."
