Every Medium, Every Voice
The 8th TSFA crossed 180+ entries from 17 states, introduced the Best Podcast & Audio Story category, and cemented its place as the definitive platform for independent creators across every storytelling medium in India.
The Story of the Eighth Edition
By 2025, TSFA had done something no other independent awards platform in India had managed — it had grown with the medium. As storytelling itself expanded beyond cinema and YouTube into podcasts, audio dramas, and long-form audio journalism, TSFA expanded with it. The 8th edition introduced the Best Podcast & Audio Story category, recognising a form that had quietly built one of the most loyal creative communities in the country.
The numbers told their own story. 180+ entries from 17 states. A jury of nine — the largest in TSFA's history. Nineteen categories spanning every format a storyteller in India might choose. The 8th edition was not just the biggest TSFA had ever been; it was the most diverse, the most contested, and the most representative of what independent creativity in India actually looks like.
What struck the jury most in 2025 was not the volume but the confidence. Filmmakers were no longer apologising for working outside the mainstream. Digital creators were no longer explaining why their work deserved to be taken seriously. Podcasters arrived knowing they belonged. The 8th edition was the year the independent storytelling community in India stopped asking for permission — and TSFA was there to mark the moment.
"In 2025, we didn't just add a category. We acknowledged that the story of Indian independent creativity had outgrown any single medium — and that TSFA had to grow with it."
